Who Qualifies for Life Membership?
Life Membership is awarded to individuals who meet the following criteria:
- Hold at least a graduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant field such as health sciences, medical research, technology, engineering, education, life sciences, public health, environmental science, or social development.
- Have made outstanding, documented contributions to academic research, innovation, education, public health, scientific leadership, or community service.
- Demonstrate a commitment to advancing scientific development and promoting innovation, either through professional practice, publications, mentorship, or public engagement.
- May include senior researchers, professors, policy influencers, healthcare leaders, technologists, and thought leaders with a sustained record of achievement.
Each application or nomination is carefully reviewed by the SIHSD Executive Council or Awards Committee, which evaluates credentials, professional impact, and alignment with the Society’s mission.

Professional Recognition and Title
- Entitlement to use the distinguished post-nominal SIHSDLM (Life Member of the Society for Innovation in Health and Scientific Development).
- Official Life Membership Certificate, signed and sealed by the President and Secretary-General of SIHSD.
- Public listing in the SIHSD Directory of Life Members, featured in publications and on the Society’s website.

Membership Validity
- Life Membership is permanent and non-expiring.
- It requires a one-time membership confirmation and administrative processing fee (if applicable).
- Life Members are expected to uphold the Society’s Code of Conduct and may be called upon to represent the Society in formal capacities.
Application and Nomination Process
There are two main pathways to becoming a Life Member:
- Direct Application
- Interested individuals submit an online or offline application form.
- Upload academic and professional credentials, curriculum vitae, and a statement of impact.
- Provide references from at least two current members or recognized professionals.
- Honorary Nomination
- Individuals may be nominated by colleagues, institutions, or professional associations for consideration.
- Nominations must be endorsed by a minimum of two existing SIHSD Members in good standing.
- The review committee will evaluate the nominee’s contributions and notify the individual upon successful selection.
Applications and nominations are reviewed quarterly. Successful candidates are informed by formal letter and receive an official membership certificate.
